A Vision for Learning

The College Mission statement commits us to learning in all forms, styles and situations; formal and informal, mutual and collegial.

What underpins all that we do is the education and wellbeing of our students. We have an obligation to provide educational experiences that ensure that:

• students have engaging and meaningful learning experiences
• students achieve to the highest of their learning potential

The development of good learning and teaching programs clearly assists and supports the wellbeing of students: engaging, innovative and relevant learning experiences provide opportunities for all to live fully and act justly.

At Catholic Regional College Caroline Springs, we aim to provide a curriculum which:

• is rigorous, creative, meaningful and purposeful 
• cultivates a learning and teaching culture of innovation, responsibility awareness and independence
• is developed with respect for the learner at its centre and
• aims to provide our students the opportunity to critically engage in a dialogue with the Catholic tradition and the world around them.

Our learning and teaching vision is consistent with the College’s School Improvement Plan to ensure the whole school learning and teaching vision is living in every classroom. In 2019 learning and teaching has identified and prioritised work around policy development, student feedback, and participation in Catholic Education Melbourne Intervention Framework: (Blended Learning Modules).

Our learning and teaching program and curriculum continuum have been developed using the Victorian Curriculum F-10. Assessment rubric have been developed for all learning areas, general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities. Our rubric also identifies aspirational extension to stretch students and Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) are also developed to support progress in student learning for our students with diverse learning needs. 

Our focus at each year level is:

• Year 7 transition and digital citizenship
• Year 8 consolidation and mastery of core skills
• Year 9 Year 9 Program, exploring possible pathways
• Year 10 enhancement and acceleration, developing authentic pathways (VCE/VCAL/VET/Traineeship/Apprenticeship)
